FESTIVAL DATES & HOURS

Friday, May 15 - School Day Program 9:00 a.m. – Noon (Food Market closed)

Friday, May 15 5:00pm– 10:00pm

Saturday, May 16 Noon – 10:00pm

Sunday, May 17 Noon – 7:00pm 

FESTIVAL LOCATION

Library Square and the adjacent Washington Square at 451 S. State St. in downtown Salt Lake City.

 

TIME COMMITMENT

We ask that all food vendors activate their vendor booth for the duration of the festival, Friday through Sunday. Please do not pack up early.

 

SETUP INFORMATION

You will be able to set up your booth on Friday between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm. The following will be provided:

• One 10’ x 20’ canopy, fire code certified. You may not use your own tent.
• Portable fire extinguisher
• Culinary water available onsite
• Trash and recycling cans, waste water containers and hot oil/ash containers
• Two banquet tables & four folding chairs
• Trash and recyclable dumpsters
• Space in a refrigerator truck
• A banner with your organization’s name
• Limited power
• Lighting

 

HEALTH DEPT. & WASTE INFORMATION

The Salt Lake County Health Department will be doing an onsite inspection just prior to the 5:00pm opening of the festival. Please be prepared.

More information and requirements will be provided if you are selected. The following are some of the requirements:

• Propane or charcoal barbecues work well and are encouraged. Generators are not allowed to be used on the festival grounds.
• Certificate of insurance required.
• Temporary Event Permit required.
• Vendors need to use plant-based, recycled plastic, paper disposable or other sustainable options for food service. No Styrofoam containers of any kind are allowed.

You will also be required to attend a training session located at the Art Barn (54 Finch Lane) hosted by the Salt Lake County Health Department.

 

FOOD VENDOR FEE

If you are selected to be a food vendor, there will be a fee of $700 to participate plus a refundable security deposit. Both the fee and the deposit must be paid prior to Friday May 1, 2026 in order to participate. 

 

ADDITIONAL FESTIVAL INFORMATION

The Salt Lake City Arts Council will be responsible for the final selection of all food vendors, marketing announcements, press releases, and management of festival grounds.

 

REVIEW & SELECTION PROCESS

We are looking for not-for-profit community organizations such as churches, civic leagues and associations to participate as food vendors in our Festival. Proceeds from Festival sales must be used to support your organization’s cultural programming.

• Food sales are limited to traditional foods only and are subject to review by Festival staff.
• Menus must be approved by staff prior to the Festival. Any changes to your menu before or during the Festival must be approved.
• Sales of traditional ethnic beverages are encouraged, but sales of commercial soft drinks & bottled water are not allowed.
• Food trucks are not permitted if you need to use a generator and/or keep the truck running.

 

Applications are reviewed by the Salt Lake City Arts Council festival staff and the Utah Division of Arts and Museums folk arts staff. The Salt Lake City Arts Council strives to make the selection process fair and equitable. 

 

Vendor organizations must be located in the state of Utah.

FECHAS Y HORARIOS DEL FESTIVAL  Viernes 15 de mayo – Programa Escolar: 9:00am – 12:00pm (Mercado de alimentos cerrado)  Viernes 15 de mayo: 5:00pm – 10:00pm  Sábado 16 de mayo: 12:00pm – 10:00pm  Domingo 17 de mayo: 12:00pm – 7:00pm.

COMPROMISO DE TIEMPO  Se solicita que todos los vendedores de alimentos mantengan su puesto activo durante toda la duración del festival, de viernes a domingo. Por favor, no desmontes antes de tiempo.

 

INFORMACIÓN DE MONTAJE  Podrás montar tu puesto el viernes entre las 12:00pm y las 5:00pm Se proporcionará lo siguiente:  Una carpa de 10’ x 20’, certificada según el código contra incendios (no se permite usar carpas propias)  Extintor portátil  Agua para uso culinario en el sitio  Contenedores de basura y reciclaje, contenedores para aguas residuales y para aceite caliente/cenizas  Dos mesas tipo banquete y cuatro sillas plegables  Contenedores grandes de basura y reciclaje  Espacio en un camión refrigerado  Un letrero con el nombre de tu organización  Electricidad limitada  Iluminación

 

INFORMACIÓN DEL DEPARTAMENTO DE SALUD Y RESIDUOS  El Departamento de Salud del Condado de Salt Lake realizará una inspección en el sitio justo antes de la apertura del festival a las 5:00pm. Por favor, prepárate.  Se proporcionará información y requisitos adicionales si eres seleccionado/a. Algunos de los requisitos incluyen:  Se recomiendan parrillas de propano o carbón. No se permite el uso de generadores dentro del recinto del festival.  Certificado de seguro obligatorio.  Permiso temporal para eventos obligatorio.  Los vendedores deben usar opciones sostenibles para el servicio de alimentos, como productos de origen vegetal, plástico reciclado, papel u otros materiales sostenibles. No se permite el uso de recipientes de unicel (Styrofoam) de ningún tipo.  También será obligatorio asistir a una sesión de capacitación en el Art Barn (54 Finch Lane), organizada por el Departamento de Salud del Condado de Salt Lake.

 

CUOTA PARA VENDEDORES DE ALIMENTOS  Si eres seleccionado/a como vendedor/a de alimentos, habrá una cuota de participación de $700 más un depósito de seguridad reembolsable. Tanto la cuota como el depósito deben pagarse antes del viernes 1 de mayo de 2026 para poder participar.

 

INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL DEL FESTIVAL  El Consejo de las Artes de Salt Lake City será responsable de la selección final de todos los vendedores de alimentos, los anuncios de mercadotecnia, los comunicados de prensa y la administración del recinto del festival.

 

PROCESO DE REVISIÓN Y SELECCIÓN  Buscamos organizaciones comunitarias sin fines de lucro, como iglesias, ligas cívicas y asociaciones, para participar como vendedores de alimentos. Las ganancias obtenidas durante el festival deben utilizarse para apoyar la programación cultural de tu organización.  La venta de alimentos se limita exclusivamente a comidas tradicionales y está sujeta a revisión por parte del personal del festival.  Los menús deben ser aprobados por el personal antes del festival. Cualquier cambio al menú, antes o durante el evento, debe ser aprobado.  Se fomenta la venta de bebidas étnicas tradicionales, pero no se permite la venta de refrescos comerciales ni agua embotellada.  No se permiten camiones de comida si requieren el uso de generadores y/o mantener el motor encendido.  Las solicitudes son revisadas por el personal del festival del Consejo de las Artes de Salt Lake City y por el personal de artes populares de la División de Artes y Museos de Utah. El Consejo de las Artes de Salt Lake City se esfuerza por que el proceso de selección sea justo y equitativo.  La organización vendedora debe estar ubicada en el estado de Utah.
